The food was spectacular!! We went there at 430pm on a Thursday. Great service too, we brought our kids and they even changed the channel to something more child friendly for them. I'll definitely be going back to try more, The quesobirria tacos were phenomenal!!!

Great little gem, ran into it by accident but so happy I am. Great service, chips were fresh & warm, happy atmosphere big servings. Arrive before 4pm because it gets crowded after that.

Great what appears to be a family run business. The food was delicious and the service fantastic. I ordered the cafe de olla (black coffee with piloncillo (Mexican brown sugar), and canela (cinnamon)). It was just okay, no real cinnamon taste and just okay. I ordered the campechana, which was packed to the rim with shrimp, abalone, pulp (octopus), avocado, cucumber, and pico de gallo. My partner had the chilaquiles with steak and eggs. We asked for the green sauce but spicy. It had a nice flavor and a little spice, but it was great. The steak was delicious! So tender. He asked if instead of tortillas he could get toast. The young lady said sure, but did not disclose they would charge 2 for a piece of toast. Overall, great place with great food and service. We will return.

Left happy with a full belly. Their albondigas are served piping hot, well seasoned, and super soft meatballs and veggies. Their bathrooms are really clean, too. Only one woman was on duty to take orders, run food, and check up on all the guests, so kudos to her for sailing this ship

This spot is a true hidden gem for authentic Mexican food. I came during lunch, and both the patio and interior were filled with regulars — always a great sign! I ordered the shrimp fajitas, shrimp campechana, quesabirria tacos, menudo, and horchata — and every single item hit the spot. The quesabirria tacos were especially flavorful and cheesy, and their chips and salsa had the perfect spicy kick. The service was friendly and fast, and the interior was super clean and inviting. Whether you’re craving seafood, tacos, or a classic bowl of menudo, Harbor Mexican Cafe delivers. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in the La Habra area! I wanted something other than Asian food. I was really excited because I haven't had Mexican food in a while. Parking: There's a small plaza, so finding a spot can be a hit or miss. Ambiance/Environment: I looove the decor here. The colors, pictures, and warm ambiance felt like i was transported to Mexico. They have a medium sized space with a decent amount of indoor seating. Service: Shout out to Jenny! She was the only server, and she was courteous, attentive, and efficient. She constantly checked on me to ensure I was still doing good. Throughput was also quick after ordering. Food & drinks: 1. Huevos con machaca - Dry aged shredded beef cooked in peppers, onions, tomatoes, and scrambled with two eggs. They serve breakfast all day! What?! This is similar to an omelette but scrambled and served with beans and rice. I really enjoyed this dish! 2. Pozole - Traditional Mexican red soup with chunks of pork & hominy. Wow .. this is the most authentic pozole I've had in a while. It is served with the usual lettuce, radish, and limes. There was a generous amount of pork and hominy. Sooo flavorful! 3. Quesabirria tacos - I looove quesabirria! Make sure to drench the taco in the consome to give it more flavor. These are their most popular tacos, and I could definitely tell why. 4. Mixed fajitas - Their fajitas are back! This contained a mixture of chicken, steak, & shrimp. This came out on a smoking hot plate. I decided to go with corn tortillas. This was also served with the usual sides of fresh avocado, beans, rice, and salsa. The proteins were cooked and seasoned well. 5. Chile relleno & hard shell taco combination - A chile filled w/ cheese, dipped in a light egg batter, fried, & covered with salsa ranchera & cheese. I ordered this combo with a beef hard shell taco. The chile relleno was sooo delicious! The chile is a green pepper stuffed with cheese and fried. I love how generous they are with the salsa ranchera. This was also served with rice and beans. 6. Campechana - seafood cocktail shrimp, octopus, and abalone. This was recommended to me. This dish became popular through socials. Presentation was on point. This is more on the sweeter side and served with crackers. 7. Mango margarita - I love me some margaritas! The mango flavor definitely came through. 8. Michelada - I ordered this with Corona beer. The spices were on point. Pricing: I absolutely enjoyed everything! Each dish was filled with authentic Mexican flavors!

Great spot for some delicious authentic Mexican food! They start you off with chips and salsa- so good!! We had to ask for a refill on the chips. We went around brunch time so one dish we ordered was the chilaquiles in green sauce (mild) with scrambled eggs. The sauce was perfect for a kid who doesn't eat spicy and loves semi- crunchy chilaquiles. Next dish, the enchiladas suizas with chicken. These are made with a flour tortilla and melted cheese. Next, bean and cheese burrito was huge! See picture with a 12-year old hand for comparison. Nothing fancy but good flavors and hearty portion. Lasty, the combo, one crunchy taco and one enchilada - both with chicken. Yum! I also tried the champurrado which was very flavorful and got me feeling ready for the holiday season!
